Jennifer Lopez Custody Battle with Marc Anthony Getting 'Vicious'?

Guess what may be brewing between ex-couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony: a custody battle that may turn "vicious," according to sources. Jennifer Lopez has custody of the couple's two 3-year-old twins according to their initial agreement.

It's an agreement that Anthony may soon try to contest. He might seek joint custody.

Turns out, Anthony's a little peeved. He doesn't like the company that Lopez has been keeping. Specifically, he's reportedly not too happy about Lopez's new boyfriend, 24-year-old backup dancer Casper Smart.

Anthony reportedly saw photos of Lopez and Smart on vacation in Hawaii with the twins. The new couple jetted off to the locale over Thanksgiving. Photos showed Smart bonding with the two children, which made apparently Anthony unhappy.

Lopez and Anthony split earlier this year after 7 years of marriage. The divorce seemed rather friendly, until now.

Anthony might be using the child custody issue as a means to make Lopez's life miserable, reports ABC News. Or, he might be challenging the custody agreement for the sake of his children's welfare.

If he legitimately wants to amend any custody agreement he has, he might need to go through a court. Modification of child custody arrangements may be granted in response to changes in a parent's life. For example, if a stepparent enters into the picture.

Typically, the parent who seeks a change of custody must show that somehow the change will provide a better environment for the kids.

Parents don't necessarily need to go through a court to change custody. They can agree informally amongst themselves, though obtaining a court order makes it more "official."

Jennifer Lopez's custody battle with Marc Anthony may get heated, as it's doubtful the star would concede primary custody on her own. It's possible that Marc Anthony could argue for joint custody citing Smart's faults. For one, the 24-year-old has been arrested for drag racing. He has also been seen driving the twins around.
