'That '70s Show's' Lisa Robin Kelly Arrested for Domestic Violence

Lisa Robin Kelly from "That '70s Show" has been arrested, again. The actress, who played Eric Foreman's brash older sister Laurie, was arrested in her North Carolina home after an alleged assault on Monday.

The other person reportedly involved in the fight was Kelly's husband, gossip website TMZ reports. This isn't the first time the couple's altercations have gotten the attention of police.

Kelly was charged with spousal abuse after a similar situation back in March. The charges were dropped, but this new issue could raise the same legal problems.

Both Kelly and her husband were arrested at the scene, reports the New York Daily News, which indicates that both of them were involved in at least some physical fighting.

For the safety of domestic violence victims, many state and local laws require police to arrest alleged abusers if there is sufficient evidence of abuse. One of the side effects of that is that both spouses can be arrested if police believe both engaged in physical abuse.

Arrest doesn't necessarily mean there will be criminal charges. It's up to a prosecutor to decide whether there's enough evidence to press charges.

In the case of spousal abuse, if the abused spouse is unwilling to testify, it makes mounting a criminal case more difficult. It's unclear whether there will be charges brought against Kelly this time or if they'll stick.

So far, police say there were no visible injuries on either Kelly or her husband, reports TMZ. Cops also don't believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

But this isn't the first time Kelly has been in the news for legal trouble following the end of "That '70s Show." The actress was arrested for drunken driving back in 2010. She pleaded guilty and served a day in jail for her misbehavior.
