Don't urinate in public, no matter how popular your movie was.
Actor Bronson Pelletier of "Twilight" fame apparently thought he could relieve himself at Los Angeles International Airport. There's nothing wrong with taking a leak there, if you do it in the designated areas -- those designated areas being the restrooms.
But don't celebrities get special urinating privileges in Los Angeles? Well, if Pelletier had any confusion about that, he was certainly set straight. He was charged with public intoxication after he was stopped while urinating on the terminal carpet while drunk last December. You can watch the video, courtesy of TMZ, right here.
According to TMZ, Pelletier was sentenced to two years of probation for the incident. He was also ordered to attend 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Pelletier is a Canadian actor who played the shape-shifter Jared Cameron in "The Twilight Saga," writes Yahoo!'s OMG! blog.
Pelletier was removed from the plane after he allegedly urinated at the gate between flights.
Public intoxication is a misdemeanor in California where, like in many other states, it can potentially lead to fines and jail time. It's said to be the No. 1 problem associated with "drinking" holidays such as Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day.
By definition, public intoxication involves the appearance of being drunk in a public place. Sounds vague, doesn't it? It can be. In some states, you don't even have to be drunk. You just have to look like you are. But of course, Pelletier can't use the vagueness excuse, since he took a long whizz in plain sight.
Public intoxication is not the only crime you could be charged with for whipping out your privates in public. If someone has publicly displayed his genitals, then he could face charges of indecent exposure, whether he relieved himself or not.
So the lesson here is that it doesn't matter if you've starred in a box office hit. Just don't pee in public.
