Attorney Tossed From Her Own Arraignment for Talking Too Much

Oklahoma attorney Amy McTeer, 40, just doesn't know when to stop. Talking, that is.

Court employees in Logan County had to forcibly remove the litigator last week when she refused to keep quiet during her own arraignment hearing. McTeer is facing felony drug charges and felt the need to interject her opinion into the proceedings.

Proceedings that also happen to mark her fourth set of criminal charges in the past seven months.

These latest charges accuse Amy McTeer of being in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, reports the Oklahoman. When police picked her up in front of a truck stop, she claimed a man poisoned and left her there.

The story did not account for the pipe in her pocket. Or the white residue it so prominently displayed.

McTeer is facing additional drug and child endangerment charges in Oklahoma County. She called police to her home in late December and claimed two armed black males had tried to kill her. When her children disputed the story, she admitted to using "Ice."

Even before these incidents, prosecutors in Canadian County had accused McTeer of assisting a prisoner escape. Back in July, she allegedly helped her boyfriend -- a former client -- escape from a minimum-security facility.

Prosecutors in Oklahoma County also charged her with harboring a fugitive. The couple was found having lunch after McTeer posted photos on Facebook.

Amy McTeer is unsurprisingly facing disciplinary action by the Oklahoma State Bar. Perhaps by the end of those proceedings she'll have learned to keep her mouth shut.
