Lawyer Parents Plant Drugs on Elementary School Volunteer?

Kent and Jill Easter attempted to frame a school volunteer by planting drugs in her car, but the joke's on the two California attorneys instead.

The Easter's didn't like the way Kelli Peters supervised their son so they made a plan to get her fired by planting drugs in her car. The Easter's provided an anonymous tip to police that Peters' had drugs in her car, but the facts didn't add up.

The incident happened in February but it took the police several months to trace the crime back to the Easters. Then on Tuesday, Kent and Jill were arrested for trying to frame Kelli Peters.

The alleged facts of how these Orange County attorneys became inept criminals is a tale of overprotective parents gone bad.

The Easter's had previously clashed with Peters', a volunteer at their son's school and President of the PTA according Los Angeles Times. In 2010, the Kent and Jill brought suit against Peters in connection with her work at the school but the case was dismissed.

This time, Kent Easter allegedly drove to Peters' home and left a bag of prescription drugs, marijuana, and a used marijuana pipe in her backseat, reports The Orange County Register. He then called the Irvine police and left an anonymous tip that he saw Peters' put drugs in her car.

Police arrived to investigate and while they found the drugs in Peters' car, but additional facts led them to believe that Peters wasn't the one who put them there. They were able to trace the original call back to Kent. He was caught on video allegedly making the call on a public phone in Newport Beach according to LA Times.

Kent Easter did not respond to a phone message asking for comment from the Huffington Post.

Jill Easter's California Bar Admission has lapsed since she was admitted in 1998. But the California Bar website lists Kent Easter as an attorney with Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth.

A search for Kent Easter on Stradling's website listed him as a shareholder but his personal webpage appears to have been deactivated. You can't blame them for wanting to distance themselves from the situation.

Kent and Jill Easter were charged with three felonies in connection with planting drugs on Peters. They are out on bail and scheduled for an arraignment in July.
