Top 3 Cool Legal Jobs This Week: Globetrotter Edition

Want to travel the world? See the lights of Paris one week, a bazaar in Indonesia the next? You can! Sort of. At least, metaphorically. In your legal work. With the right job, you can be handling issues that span the globe, from the frozen corners of Alaska to everywhere you can buy a Coke.

For this week's collection of cool legal jobs, presented as part of our affiliate relationship with Indeed, we're rounding up the best gigs with a decidedly international focus.

1. Counsel, International Trade, Coca Cola

"Coca Cola," they say, is the second most recognized word in the world, after "hello." Hundreds of millions of people, across more than 200 countries, drink Coke every day, consuming 1.9 billion servings, according to the company. Suffice it to say, Coke is an international product, requiring lawyers with some international savoir faire.

Coke is currently looking for someone to join its team as International Trade Counsel. IN that spot, you'd be responsible for dealing with import / export issues, antiboycott compliance (that's not one we've heard of before), trade opportunities and issues, and general legal support.

2. Counsel, BP

BP is one of the largest oil, gas, and energy companies in the world, with operations across the world. Once known as "British Petroleum," it's now styling itself as a company that's "beyond petroleum," but the black stuff is still central to its business.

As counsel for BP, you'd be tasked with supporting its Americas-based oil, refined products, and environmental products supply and trading division, including everything from negotiating pipeline agreements to advising on international trade laws -- not to mention dealing with the whole alphabet soup of international regulatory bodies, from FERC to MARPOL to the CARB.

3. Legal Advisor, International Humanitarian Law, American Red Cross

One of the country's largest humanitarian organizations, the American Red Cross operates throughout the U.S. and in association with the international Red Cross network, bringing aid to those in need.

The Red Cross's legal advisor position isn't your typical legal job. Working with the International Humanitarian Law team, you'll be helping create CLE and professional training courses on conflict-related issues, highlighting "the contemporary relevancy of humanitarian issues."
