Remember that time we told you about our office-wide volunteer project with the San Francisco Achievers? Well if you don’t, here’s a quick refresher…
Earlier this year, we had the great idea to pool together our collective talents and help a fantastic local organization, the San Francisco Achievers. The organization helps African American males with personal and academic development in addition to college scholarships. Our mission was simple: get our great writers, editors, engineers and designers to create a website worthy of such a fantastic charity.
Our initial in-office volunteer day included a visit by SF Achiever's Program Director Myra Quadros-Meis. Her enthusiasm for the program was contagious and soon enough, employees were signing up to share their talents with the San Francisco Achievers.
FindLaw designer extraordinaire Andrew Ng created the perfect images and layout to represent the organization, while lead software engineer Miles Zarathustra made sure that the site ran as well as it looked. When the look and functionality of the website was in place, FindLaw's team of outstanding writers came in to make the webpage content as dynamic as possible. The website even includes an interview of a recent graduate and a blog.
Talk about a facelift!
We could not be more proud of the finished product. Not only did we have a chance to help a worthy organization, but also to work with our fellow employees on something totally different. With 2013 upon us, we are all looking forward to the next opportunity to help our community! And whether you are in the Bay Area or not, make sure to check out the San Francisco Achievers.
