Man Threatens to Eat Police, Their Families, Their Dogs

Okay, so maybe Paul Brock isn't quite so ... poetic. But police in Lafayette, Ind. do allege that he threatened to "hunt them down and eat them, their dogs and their entire families."

Yeah, he threatened to eat the police dogs.

After he kicked one of the dogs in the head -- twice.

Brock is accused of stealing a vehicle from a local gas station, according to the Journal & Courier. He jumped into a car that was left unlocked and running.

The owner was apparently "warming it up."

Police caught up with the cannibalistic dog hater soon after. At some point during the incident, he kicked one of the animals in the head and threatened police, explains the paper.

Paul Brock was subsequently charged with 2 counts of auto theft, resisting arrest, driving under the influence, striking a law enforcement animal and ... intimidation?

Oh yes, threatening to eat police dogs, police officers and their families is a crime. In fact, it's a Class D felony in Indiana.

The crime of intimidation occurs when one threatens another person with the intent "that the other person be placed in fear of retaliation for a prior lawful act." When law enforcement is involved, the crime is upgraded from a misdemeanor.

It's also completely irrelevant that Paul Brock was drunk -- his intent was quite clear. No one threatens to eat a police dog -- or an officer's family -- without hope of instilling fear.
