Grandma Gets Into Shootout with Robbers. And Wins.

Just because someone is a grandma, doesn't mean they're not tough. A grandmother shootout against robbers went down in Macon, Georgia. And the lady won.

Lulu Campbell, 57, was dropping off her 15-year-old grandson at her daughter's house. While she was sitting in her car, two men approached and demanded money, but Campbell refused. The men then threatened to shoot her if she didn't open her door.

The fearless grandmother then said a line that could've been ripped straight out of "Die Hard."

"Baby, you're gonna kill me anyway, so I don't have to open it," Campbell replied.

One of the men, 32-year-old Brenton Lance Spencer, then shot through her passenger window. Fortunately, Campbell backed up in time for the bullet to miss and fly through the driver's window.

Even luckier is that Campbell was packing heat. Campbell owns convenience stores and gas stations, so she got into the habit of carrying 24/7. She whipped out her gun and fired back, hitting Spencer in the chest.

She then took cover in her truck and continued the fire-fight with the other man, Dante Horatio Shivers, 32. Outmatched, Shivers eventually fled.

Like most states, Georgia has a self-defense law based on the now infamous "stand your ground" doctrine. Meaning that if you're attacked anywhere, you have no duty to retreat and can fight back using proportionate force. Some states only allow this if you're attacked in your home. They follow what's known as the "castle" doctrine.

Spencer was taken to the hospital and is currently under police surveillance. Authorities are still looking for Shivers.

As for the quick-draw grandma, shootouts aren't something she wants to go through again. "I thought I was going to die," Campbell said.
