June 2010 Archives

As we've discussed here before, we are always adding great new content to FindLaw.com. Our content team never stops adding new legal information to help consumers get answers to their legal questions. This week, we're highlighting some of the newest criminal law content on FindLaw. The team has recently rolled out a number of new and updated articles to highlight some of the most common questions encountered in the criminal law field.

Here are just a few of the new and updated topic areas in our Learn About the Law section:

More and more, well known media outlets are turning to surveys conducted by FindLaw.com for the numbers that illustrate what Americans are really thinking about the legal issues confronting us right now. The most recent survey from FindLaw.com asked people, can you name one Supreme Court Justice? The answer for nearly two thirds of those polled was "no." According to the FindLaw survey, only 35 percent of Americans can name one Supreme Court Justice. Only 1 percent can name all nine.

Millions of people each month search for legal information on FindLaw, many of them ready to find and hire a lawyer to help them address their legal issue. Most of those will end up in FindLaw's Lawyer Directory, and if they are looking at a Premium Profile, they could be that much closer to hiring the lawyer they need.

Premium Profiles build on the basic Lawyer Directory listing to provide extensive information about a firm and its practice. These attorney profiles can greatly increase a firm's visibility in Lawyer Directory search results -- clients searching for an attorney in a specific location and practice area will see matching Premium Profiles prioritized over more basic listings. Premium Profiles also get the benefit of FindLaw's expertise in search engine optimization, enabling them to be found more easily in search engines.

Where can attorneys turn to if they want to learn more about how to create an online presence? Starting June 17, they can turn to FindLaw's newly designed website LawyerMarketing.com. It is a one-stop shop for attorneys who are looking to increase their online visibility.

How does LawyerMarketing.com help attorneys do that? The redesigned website offers valuable information about all of FindLaw's Lawyer Marketing products, including custom websites, online advertising alternatives, as well as smart educational resources designed to help attorneys understand their online marketing options.

The internet is changing and growing every day. Along with those changes come countless opportunities to reach potential clients in new, more efficient, more productive ways. But, what does this mean for law firms? Just ask our customers.

In this video, David K. Miller of Miller & Wagner LLP in Portland, Oregon, describes his firm's evolving relationship with FindLaw. From helping Miller Wagner LLP get started with online marketing, to creating a brand new, dynamic online presence, FindLaw has been instrumental in helping Miller & Wagner keep up with the changing nature of the internet. When FindLaw's customers need fast answers for tough questions, they know that they can always turn to their FindLaw team. The key people that customers rely on are their local Client Development Consultant (CDC) and Account Manager. They are the customers' "go-to people" for questions about FindLaw products, traffic, or updates to their site.

The CDC's primary role is to consult with customers regarding their web based marketing strategies. CDCs also align FindLaw's portfolio of products to meet clients' marketing needs. The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring customers are satisfied by providing proactive and reactive ongoing support for accounts, as well as providing customers with marketing expertise.

After our TV ad hit the airwaves in the Atlanta, Ga. market in May, we knew we were onto something. Now, an even wider group of people than the 4.8 million monthly visitors to FindLaw.com is discovering where they can turn "when life gets legal," with our new consumer ads. To continue to help our growing nationwide visitor base become familiar with the FindLaw brand and all it has to offer, we are taking our new ads to a broad range of news, media, financial and real estate related websites.

How does a law firm set itself apart from the pack? With FindLaw's online marketing services. That's the message FindLaw is sending out loud and clear with our newest round of trade advertisements.
