Super Lawyers Top Lists 2012

The cream of the crop in 2012 is now known. Super Lawyers has published its Top Lists of attorneys for the year. The attorneys named to these Top Lists, which correspond with each region's Super Lawyers list, have risen to the peak of an already competitive group of accomplished professionals in 2012.

Top List selectees receive the honor by making it through a rigorous and methodical process. Candidates are judged on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement including representative clients, verdicts and pro bono work. Attorneys must rank at the very top of the Super Lawyers lists after the completion of the state or region's peer nomination, independent research and Blue Ribbon Panel review processes.

"Super Lawyers has always been devoted to the mission of finding and recognizing excellence in legal practice," says Julie Gleason director of Research. "Our Top Lists take that mission one step further by highlighting those attorneys who exhibit a truly extraordinary level of achievement." Among the lawyers on the Top Lists are:

  • Ted Olson (Top 10, Washington D.C. area), the former Solicitor General known for his work on Bush v. Gore and against California's Proposition 8.
  • Raymond Gill, Jr. (Top 10, New Jersey), a tort litigation specialist who's made a habit of winning million-dollar results for his clients.
  • Gedney Howe III (Top 10, South Carolina), a litigator who won one of the state's largest-ever personal injury verdicts.
