It’s a great way for us to interact with legal professionals and stay connected with our current and potential customers. That’s why FindLaw will attend the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s annual meeting May 10-11 in Atlanta.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. With that famous statement in mind, FindLaw understands the importance of informing our millions of visitors on the many federal, state and local laws that affect their everyday lives.

FindLaw has an entire section dedicated to state and local laws across dozens of popular legal topics. Recently revamped, FindLaw's state law section is written in easy to understand summaries, charts and other background information for all fifty states. Covered practice areas include: criminal law, family law and employment law. In addition to in-depth information on broad topics, the state laws section also has specific laws on important topics such as gun control, abortion and marijuana.

All around the country, lawyers are doing legal work for indigent clients. They provide their legal expertise to needy clients — and they do it for free. You’ve probably heard of the phrase pro bono, which is short for the Latin pro bono publico which means “for the public good.”

This is honorable, valuable volunteer work. In fact, lawyers everywhere just marked Pro Bono Week at the end of October. It is in that spirit we are proud to tell you about the annual Super Lawyers Pro Bono Award.
