FindLaw's New RSS Caselaw Feeds: Auto Case Notifications from 80 Courts
Have a favorite local court? Practice exclusively in a specialty court? FindLaw has just made tracking new caselaw a lot easier.
FindLaw's new RSS caselaw feeds provide the solo or small firm lawyer with targeted, practice-specific links to new cases in over 80 courts around the country. If you want to see only Ninth Circuit cases, or only cases from the California Supreme Court -- we've got the feed for you.
The list deliverable to your email or smartphone includes all U.S. Courts of Appeal, 44 state supreme courts, and 29 state courts of appeal. With this new service, you just subscribe and instruct FindLaw to send you case notices from any listed court.
The RSS feeds ("Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication") use Internet search techniques and Findlaw technology to filter thousands of legal opinions. You receive only cases from the courts you care about.
You can receive the results in your email, or read them via a "feedreader." Feedreaders are either software you install on your computer, or applets you install on your smart phone. You can download one of several free feedreaders from the Internet.
And if you or your firm has a blog or non-commercial web site, FindLaw encourages the use of FindLaw RSS feeds for personal use. Just attribute Findlaw as the source, and link back to the original content on FindLaw.com whenever FindLaw content is posted on your website or blog.
