Preview: Next Week is Supreme Court Week at FindLaw!

By William Peacock, Esq. | Last updated on

For us Supreme Court geeks, the summer recess is a pretty difficult time. After the flurry of important decision in June, addressing same-sex marriage, voting rights, and DNA cataloging of arrestees, we were left in SCOTUS silence for three months.

Now, even with the rest of the government on shutdown, the nation's most important court is set to resume official business on Monday. In their honor, we'll be covering everything SCOTUS across nearly all of our Legal Professionals blogs.

SCOTUS Week at FindLaw

MORE COVERAGE:

Circuit Blogs: The Cases and Controversies

We've covered a number of landmark cases on this term's docket, but coverage of the entire docket on one blog would be a bit much. Instead, beginning on Monday, in each circuit's blog, we'll be breaking down the most important cases from that circuit that are currently set to be heard by the Court. Posts will have the local angle, as well as the circuit court's disposition.

Supreme Court Blogs: Early Cases, Biggest Issues

On our U.S. Supreme Court blog, we'll be taking a look at the cases scheduled for oral argument this month, and why they are matters of national significance. We'll also talk about the biggest issues that the court will be addressing, including issues that haven't made their way to the court in a while (religion and the establishment clause, copyright disputes) and those that have (campaign finance limits, affirmative action, abortion, and Obamacare mandates).

Other Coverage: SCOTUS Stalking and Swearing In

And for those addicted to everything Supreme, we have other posts planned for our Technologist and Greedy Associates blogs, discussing the best ways to track Supreme Court news, and how one goes about being sworn in to our nation's highest court, respectively.

So, whether you're looking to prepare for your Fantasy SCOTUS leagues, impress your professors, or you are simply a Notorious RBG fanatic, FindLaw, as always, is the place to be. Follow our coverage on Twitter and Facebook, or bookmark our blogs.
