As if the Sandusky name had not been sullied enough, Jeffrey Sandusky, adopted son of former Penn State football assistant coach and convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky, was arrested and charged yesterday on a multitude of child sex charges.
The charges involve text messages to two girls -- one 15 and the other 16-years-old at the time -- asking for naked photos and oral sex. Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller told the AP Sandusky "made statements. I wouldn't classify them necessarily as directly inculpatory, but I don't think they helped him much."
Sins of the Son
The younger Sandusky was charged with 14 misdemeanor and felony counts:
- Solicitation of statutory sexual assault;
- Solicitation of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse;
- Six counts of unlawful contact with a minor;
- Two counts of solicitation to photograph or depict sexual acts;
- Two counts of sexual abuse of children; and
- Two counts of corruption of minors.
He was arraigned on the charges Monday, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 22. As of this morning, Sandusky remained in county jail on $200,000 bail.
"You Did What You Did"
According to law enforcement, while there was no sexual contact between Jeffrey Sandusky and the girls, Sandusky did solicit nude photos and oral sex from two teenage sisters. Per arrest documents prepared by State Trooper Jay Pollick Sandusky made the requests via text messages in the spring of 2013 and in early March 2016:
According to Pollick, Jeffrey Sandusky told the girl during the March 2016 text exchange that the request he sent her was "not weird because he studied medicine." He also told the girl that "nobody need to know" about it, the trooper wrote. [Sic]
He said the girl told Jeffrey Sandusky to stop making the requests. Jeffrey Sandusky told her to delete all of his texts so the "none of this (expletive) gets mentioned to anyone or seen by anyone," Pollick wrote.
Jeffrey Sandusky then asked for another picture of the girl, the trooper said. When she refused, Jeffrey Sandusky told her they needed to talk and the she replied, "You did what you did and I'm not going to give you a chance to try and justify it," according to Pollick.
The investigation began when one girl showed text messages to her father. When confronted by the victims' mother, Sandusky allegedly told her it was "role play" designed to get her daughter off the internet. "Jeffrey Sandusky advised her that he was sorry and didn't remember what he had said and then opened up and advised he knows it was wrong and inappropriate," Pollick wrote.
