Law Office Productivity: Rocket Matter Integrates with Dropbox

We have already sung the praises of cloud -based backup site Dropbox. Now Rocket Matter, a cloud-based time keeping, billing and practice management application, is offering an exciting new feature: integration with Dropbox.

With the new integration, attorneys will be able to backup client and law firm documents and synchronize them through a Rocket Matter Dropbox folder. The two services will work directly with each other, meaning that once a file is saved in Dropbox, it is already accessible in Rocket Matter, and vice versa. In addition, Rocket Matter now has a new feature that will allow attorneys to set permission levels for individual folders, so that different files can be accessed by different people as the attorney sees fit.

According to Rocket Matter, this is a huge step because users can leverage the massive amounts of documents they store on Dropbox and easily access them through Rocket Matter's web interface.

"We've found Dropbox to be immensely popular in the attorney small office community," says Larry Port, the company's CEO and Co-Founder. "At a recent conference devoted to legal technology, nearly 80% of the participants discussed using Dropbox and it was mentioned in almost every presentation. We feel Rocket Matter integration will make their lives even more productive."

It's really an exciting development because attorneys used to have to either pay far more to get such functionality, or deal with a lack of integration in the software. So if you are using Dropbox or Rocket Matter, or have been considering giving either of them a try, this latest development provides all the more incentive to give it a go.
