Looks like the anger management and the rehab didn't take. Beyond bad-boy Charlie Sheen has been hospitalized after an "allergic reaction" to some medication caused him to become enraged, scare his date into the bathroom and wreck a hotel room at the Plaza. Business as usual.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Sheen was given the choice between hospitalization or jail by police, who were called to his New York hotel room early Tuesday morning. The room was in bad shape, according to reports, with chairs tossed around and even the chandelier damaged.
Charlie Sheen, meanwhile, was in worse shape.
A report by TMZ says police called Sheen "intoxicated, irrational" and "emotionally disturbed." Oh, and naked.
The LA Times reports Sheen was "out partying" and brought a woman back to his hotel room with him. All was swell until Sheen reportedly noticed his wallet and cell phone were missing and flew into a rage. His female friend, acting with aplomb, locked herself in the bathroom and called security. Smart girl.
Sheen's representative claims Sheen's actions were the result of an allergic reaction to some medication he was taking. Allergic reaction or not, Sheen will likely not deflect the charges that will surely be brought by the hotel for the damage done. Given his track record of domestic violence allegations, it's also possible that his frightened date could press assault charges. As you may remember, a charge of assault does not require any bodily harm, just the fear of harm.
A further complication. E!Online reports that the terms of Sheen's probation stemming from his domestic violence case with wife number two, Brooke Mueller, requires the actor not use alcohol or drugs in excess, or violate any criminal laws. Violation of any of the elements of probation can, as Lindsay Loan could tell him, land Mr. Charlie Sheen back in jail.
Despite the possibility of criminal or civil charges, a hospital stay, or even a just big bill from the hotel, E! reports that Sheen's assistant was seen loading luggage from the Plaza into a car, leading to speculation he could be flying home soon. Business as usual?
