Embry Call, you can't shapeshift yourself out of this one: the actor who plays Embry in the Twilight series, Kiowa Gordon, was arrested early Monday as a result of outstanding warrants in Arizona.
Gordon was the passenger of a car that was stopped for a registration check.
Earlier reports had stated that Gordon had a DUI. In reality, the Twilight star was busted because during the registration check the police officer discovered that Gordon had active warrants out for his arrest, reports TMZ.
Gordon had failed to appear in court for an earlier driving under the influence of cannabis charge, reports The Daily Mail.
He also had another warrant out for his arrest since he failed to attend another court appearance for a separate driving under the influence charge, according to The Daily Mail.
Gordon, who is Mormon, plays the role of a shapeshifting werewolf in the Twilight series. For all those who are unfamiliar with the vampire series, Gordon's character, Embry Call, is a werewolf who is the best friend of Jacob, another werewolf and a central figure in the book series that vies for the female protagonist's affections. His rival? Vampire Edward Cullen.
Too bad neither Jacob nor Edward can probably help Gordon out of this situation.
DUI charges traditionally stem from being caught driving under the influence of alcohol. But Gordon's driving under the influence of cannabis woes remind us that many states prohibit driving on drugs (marijuana included).
So, while werewolf Embry Call may be seen in the next Twilight flick, now that his actor-counterpart Kiowa Gordon has been arrested, Gordon may make his next public appearance in a courtroom instead of the red carpet.
