Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
David Paul Miramontes, better known as David Paul, was Heather Mills' hairdresser. That is, until she reportedly stiffed him $80,000 for his services.
Los Angeles-based Paul is a celebrity stylist. He charges thousands of dollars for his cuts. In fact, he claims he styled the ex-Mrs. Paul McCartney's hair 20 times between 2005 and 2008. He even cut her hair for her appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
Except, Mills never paid. It's not like she doesn't have the funds. She received a hefty $50 million sum (around £24.3 million pounds) from McCartney after their divorce.
Paul alleges that he is the victim of fraud.
Crimes of fraud generally involve misrepresentations, lies or deceitful conduct on the part of the perpetrator. Fraud statutes vary by state. But typically, to prove fraud one must show:
In Mills' case, Paul claims that she promised to pay after her divorce settlement came through. He tells The Daily Mail that she complained that McCartney never gave her money so she couldn't afford to pay.
This could be a misrepresentation. If Mills never intended to pay up or if she actually did receive money from McCartney over the years it does seem like deceitful conduct has occurred.
And this is exactly what David Paul Miramontes is alleging. Heather Mills' hairdresser now claims the newly-rich divorcee has been avoiding him since her divorce settlement. And that she never intended to pay. This may not be all that hard to believe, considering Mills' extravagant spending habits. She apparently rented a home in California for $100,000 a month.
