Fall at FindLaw: Back to School Sure, but There's More

Welcome to the first in a series that we hope you will like, From the Managing Editor. That's me. It's a first for me, and for FindLaw.com.

Speaking of firsts, it's really that time of year, isn't it? Sure, people think of fresh starts on New Year's, but for me, the fresh start time of year has always been fall. Back to school, back to work, back from vacation.

So what is that fresh start here at FindLaw? Well, as always, we have some great resources to help parents cope with the maze that is back to school. We also have new content, new resources, and really, a new attitude (goes with the new fall shoes).

Back to School

Back to school may be new, or it may be the same old thing for you. If you are a parent with a new tween or teen, you might be thinking more this year more about bullying, social media, testing, dating, and all the other wonderful issues parents of young adults get to fret about these days. While we always hope this part of your life never gets legal, we do have great articles and blogs to read, and an interactive online Answers community for you to talk to, just in case it does.

For example, is your teen or tween just starting up their Instagram account? You will want to talk to them about online safety, privacy, and what might be age appropriate behavior (that last one is all you, we just cover the legal stuff). Or maybe you just want to get your kid and his bike to school in one piece. We even have some advice on that.

Back to School, the Grown-Up Version

Heading off to law school? Please consider our Greedy Associates blog as necessary as your laptop. Just don't use it in class. Our attorney bloggers have smart, witty, and hard-headed advice for you this year on everything from surviving OCI to the 5 Classic Cases you will meet in Civ Pro. I'd say it's a must-bookmark, but I'm a bit biased. If you want a quicker hit on FindLaw LP content, follow us on Twitter, and Facebook for constant updates.

Back to Your Life

Did you have a good summer? We did. We worked a ton around here, but we also had some fun, and got some new things cooking for you. Keep an eye out for some new and improved services just for our legal consumers. We are hitting refresh on FindLaw en Español, re-enlivening our always jumping Answers community, and bringing a few more great ideas on line. Stay tuned, there's more to come.

About That New Attitude

We did a little organizational shift here at FindLaw.com, and we are all pretty excited about it. With change of course, comes uncertainty. Lots of us, myself included, are starting out on new paths, but the one constant remains: we want to be the place you go for great, reliable, accurate legal resources. That attitude has always been the key behind what we do here, and I think it is a great old stand-by.

Happy Back to School, Happy Fall, Happy High Holy Days, Happy Fresh Start.
