Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
Move over OkCupid and eHarmony, teenagers looking for love apparently turn to Xbox. Or at least one teenager did.
13-year-old girl Elizabeth 'Beth' Robinson fell head-over-heels for a 12-year-old named Dylan that she met over Xbox. Her parents got nervous about the online romance and told her not to contact him anymore. This didn't go over well.
With all the impulsiveness of a teenager, Robinson decided to go see Dylan anyway. The problem? She lives in Texas and he allegedly lives in Kentucky.
Robinson apparently didn't see this as an obstacle since she stole her brother's car and her mother's ATM card to make the journey. Plus one for planning ahead for gas money.
Alas, Robinson's love is more Romeo and Juliet than Cinderella, a fact she'll realize when she actually gets to high school and reads the Shakespeare play. She didn't make it to Dylan before she got caught.
Never mind that she's only 13. Robinson made it almost to Nashville, Tennessee before anyone stopped her. That's an impressive several-hundred-mile trip for someone who can't even get a learner's permit.
Since she stole from her family, there won't be any criminal or civil charges pressed against her for that.
Luckily for her, she didn't get into any accidents on the way to meet her true love. If she had, her parents could be liable for any damage caused since she's underage.
A cop recognized her from a police alert and pulled her over, reports the Houston Chronicle.
Once her parents caught up with her, they attempted to nip this infatuation in the bud by bringing Robinson to meet the mysterious Dylan.
They drove all the way out to Hodgeville, Kentucky where he supposedly lives. Sadly, they were unable to locate him, reports KHOU. Robinson returned home without finding her Xbox boyfriend.
Love comes in all shapes and sizes but for Robinson this Xbox relationship went bust before it even started. Hopefully the next boy she falls for won't inspire her to resort to crime to follow her heart.
