Teen Drug Dealer Butt Dials 911 While Planning Deal

A Georgia teen was arrested recently for accidentally making a "pocket dial" (or "butt dial") to 911 during an alleged drug deal.

Daniel Moore, 18, was arrested at the Waffle House, where he works, reports the Daily Mail.

So, how does a butt dial or pocket dial work? Pretty simple. Leave your cell phone in the back pocket of your pants, and when you sit down, your butt might accidentally dial (and call) a few digits. The butt does what the butt wants, and in Moore's case, the butt wanted to call 911.

How embarrassing. Moore was in the middle of a drug transaction at around 1:30 am when dispatchers received a phone call from his cell phone. The deal was about prescription drugs, reports the New York Daily News.

After the investigators arrived, they began questioning customers and staff at the Waffle House. The cell phone was still on - and the conversations were still being heard by the 911 dispatchers. When a deputy began to question Moore, the 911 dispatcher on the other line called the deputy to inform him that Moore was the one with the cellphone.

Moore then pulled his phone out of his pocket to see that he had accidentally dialed 911 with his rear end, reports the New York Daily News. He was likely both horrified and embarrassed about this little mishap.

Moore was charged with drug possession. He had both hydrocodone and alprazolam pills on him, reports the New York Daily News. Not only that, but prosecutors will likely have the evidence they need to show that he was not only in possession of the drugs but was more than willing to sell them.

Oh, the perils of the accidental butt dial, aka the pocket dial. I guess the lesson learned here is twofold: (1) most important, don't do drugs or deal drugs, and (2) be aware of the butt dial.
