If you're a naked man, TV theft is probably something you wouldn't usually consider until after you've put on some clothes. That is, unless you're Willie Hayes.

Hayes, 35, was caught stealing a TV from a residence in Connecticut by the home owner's granddaughter - and he was in the buff, according to Patch.

The granddaughter, only 15, arrived at her grandmother's house at around 9 a.m. She saw Hayes, naked, standing on top of the stairway. When she told him he should leave, he growled at her and walked into the bathroom, and then into her grandmother's room, reports Patch.

The granddaughter heard some noises coming from the bedroom and then saw Hayes detaching the wires from a flat screen TV. "Your mother owes me money," he told her. The granddaughter went downstairs to call 911. She then saw Hayes leave the apartment, this time fully clothed, according to Patch.

Hayes actually dropped the TV off into a parked van outside then went back inside the house to collect the accompanying TV remote. Police stopped him outside the house, reports Patch.

What was Hayes even doing there? Apparently, he had met a woman at a bar the night before and had returned to the house to smoke drugs and to have sex. The woman was house sitting for the owner.

So, what kind of criminal punishments await the naked TV thief? Hayes was charged with larceny, criminal possession of a firearm or electronic device, and possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Larceny is the taking of someone else's property with the intent to deprive them of it. Robbery, on the other hand, is the taking of someone's property using force or fear - which does not seem apparent from the facts in this case.

For now, Willie Hayes, naked man and TV thief, will be facing a June 30th court date. Clothing not optional.
