About 160 Jay Elementary students received a surprise "gift" from Florida administrators this week: X-rated slap-bracelets.

The bracelets were given to the students for their fundraising efforts.

The offending items are made out of recycled metal tape measures that are then covered with a colorful cloth. They are meant to be "slapped" onto a student's wrist. Unfortunately, one student became a little curious and removed the cloth covering.

What she found was rather racy.

The measuring tape used to make the bracelet feature scantily-clad women in varying states of undress.

The school principal said that he wouldn't necessarily call the photos X-rated. Though "tasteless," he says that one person has described the images as something you might see in a country garage.

Even so, it's probably not something you want your child to tote around school. It might prematurely spark questions about the birds and the bees. It can also potentially traumatize young kiddos who haven't discovered the Internet yet.

It's not surprising that administrators are now racing to get the distributed bracelets back.

And of course they've contacted the Nashville company that provided the novelty gifts. That company is pointing to the Chinese company that manufactured the products.

Which poses some questions: why are measuring tapes even adorned with pornographic and racy images anyway? It seems like a slightly bizarre place to put dirty pictures.

Whatever the case, Jay Elementary has decided to scrap the X-rated slap bracelets. Students will likely be getting a different prize to commemorate their fundraising efforts, according to The Daily Mail. Hopefully this time they will be getting something G rated.
