Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
Cops have heard most excuses for speeding but Mandy Ramsey of Fort McCoy, Florida may have a new one. She couldn't stop because she was topless.
At least it's original.
To be fair, Ramsey wasn't speeding because she was topless. But she did allegedly lead police on a car chase because she wasn't wearing a shirt.
Somehow we don't think that will help with the charges against her.
Police tried to pull Ramsey over for driving 70 in a 50 mph zone but she sped away so they went after her. During the chase she ran a stop sign and clipped a tree before cops lost track of her, reports WFTV 9.
They found the truck she was driving using a helicopter but the owner turned out to be James Woodward, who hadn't been driving in the past few hours.
He told police that Ramsey, his girlfriend, was driving the car and she admitted that she didn't pull over because she wasn't wearing a shirt.
Throughout this conversation, no one explained why Ramsey was driving topless.
Regardless of the reason, evading police is a crime. If she had stopped, Ramsey would likely have gotten a ticket and perhaps a citation for not having a shirt on inside her car. But the punishment for evading police is potentially losing your license.
The shirtless part may also impact Ramsey's job.
She listed her occupation as 'teacher's assistant' on the arrest affidavit but Marion County schools told ClickOrlando that Ramsey is a new hire. Her first day is set for later this month provided that she still has a job.
Ramsey gets ten points for creativity but even if you're topless, we have to recommend stopping when a cop pulls you over for speeding.
