Footloose Ordinance Cut Loose
The City Director repealed the "Footloose" ordinance, coined after the 1984 movie starring Kevin Bacon about a town that banned dancing and rock music. He felt it wasn't necessary to "impose some outdated, outmoded morality code on all our fine fellow citizens." How refreshing is that?!

Privately owned establishments are free to do what they choose when it comes to blue laws. Even in counties were the sale of alcohol is prohibited at stores, private clubs can do as they choose. Conversely, though, companies can also choose not to do business on Sunday. So make sure to get your Chick-Fil-A sandwiches on Saturday. And feel free to kick off your Sunday shoes in Fort Smith!
