Law firms, like any business that relies on individual customers or clients, might want to lean into Valentine's Day before it's too late. And thanks to social media, even if you forgot to plan anything, you can still do something.
To that end, if you're confused on how to get social media marketing right on Valentine's Day, below you can get a few tips on what to do.
1. Share Your Own Love Stories
If there are any lawyers or staff at your firm that have a particularly romantic love story about how they ended up with their significant other, today is a great day to share and celebrate it on social media. Getting a little personal on social media at the appropriate times is a good way to connect with others, which is very good for the overall social media marketing plan.
For partners that are actually married to each other, Valentine's Day marketing should probably be a priority.
2. Send Out Valentines
If you can spare a few minutes, create one of those free eCards and send it out to your "former and current client" email marketing list. Be sure to include prominent language that explains that the card is technically attorney advertising, or do something to make sure that you don't accidentally send your clients the wrong message (such as you actually being interested in a romantic relationship). Alternatively, you may just want to post it on social media.
Protip: know your audience. If your social media following responds to humor, try to be funny, but avoid being crude or insensitive or sarcastic, as the last thing you want is to go viral for the wrong reasons.
3. Valentine Emergency Hotline
If you're in the business of family law, creating Valentine's Day "hotline" hours where you offer free advice to individuals with Valentine's Day legal problems: i.e. those considering divorce, or needing to learn about prenups, or other engagement related issues. You may even want to consider running those hours during the week before and after Valentine's Day as well. Creating a social media post with a custom image or graphic will be certain to boost the hotline's visibility.
