Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
Apparently lawyers who are poised to take the lead in the legal tech industry may soon be living the most glamorous life out of any lawyer that ever came before. After all, the legal tech industry is thriving, and lawyers finally do have a real chance a recreating the wheel.
But, according to the opinion of one Forbes contributor, lawyers trying to pioneer legal tech are currently lost. Many lawyers with pioneering ideas lack either good legal tech or a good go-to-market strategy. It's up to the nerds to bring the pioneering ideas forward. But does that mean legal nerds are going to take the place of BigLaw trial lawyers in TV dramas in terms of being, in Forbes' words, "the most glamorous"?
Legal Tech Just Isn't Lawyering
When it comes right down to it, the glamour of being a lawyer isn't likely to be replicable by legal tech, and the lawyer that figures out how to go to market isn't going to ever be more glamorous than Eugene using the United States of America defense (if you didn't watch the Practice ... why???).
Sure, Eugene was, like, the coolest TV lawyer ever, but the courtroom, and public facing part of the job just doesn't happen behind a computer screen.

Above the Law points out a few issues with the report: The fact that the report and issues seem to be coming from a PR firm seems a bit self-laudatory (to say the least); Additionally, it is explained that legal tech vendors have adapted to the highly resistant lawyer market. One curious response from some legal tech vendors has been to capture the clients rather than the lawyers, on the premise that if the clients demand their lawyer use the tech, only then will the lawyers use the tech.
